You must check this page every day. Although we want all swimmers to attend, there is a small window of opportunity to get the entries entered for each meet.

The Ravena Swim Club will have two types of meets available:

  1. Suburban League
  2. USA

Here is where you will find information on the any meets the team attends. If you have any questions, please email Coach Burns by using the link at the bottom of this page.

MEET ENTRY PROCEDURES FOR SUBURBAN LEAGUE MEETS

The Suburban League Meets are a team effort and a team event. We will need all available parents and swimmers. This is a head to head competition and will more fun if the entire team attends. There will be a listing of all the Suburban League meets below. Please notify me by email two weeks in advance if your swimmer is not attending or put notification in the team mail box. If you and your swimmer do not attend the next available meet and do not notify me, other swimmers on our team that do attend will not get to swim the event that your swimmer did not swim. This will also affect your swimmers teammates for relays.

Parents must sign up for meet duties for each away and home meet. Sheets will be posted for each meet by the team mail box for you to sign up.

 

MEET ENTRY PROCEDURES FOR USA MEETS(You must talk to Coach Burns about attending)

Please print the Meet Entry Form for USA Long Course meet that the Ravena Swim Team will be attending, by using the Meet Entry Form link at the top of the page. This form is to be used to indicate which events your swimmer wishes to enter for that meet. To view each meet announcement; which has fees, events, dates, times, etc. please use the Adirondack 2009-2010(until further notice, for any Long Course meets)Meet Schedule link above which is tentative until the Adirondack Fall meeting or there is a link for that annoucement. Once the link to the meet annoncement is available, that is the date of the meet.

Meet entries and fees will be due two or three weeks before the meet. There will be an announcement below for each due date for Ravena Swim Club members to have entries in to Coach Dave.

  1. If we are swimming an Adirondack Meet, please use the Adirondack 2009-2010 Meet Schedule link above. You will go to the each individual meet link and click on to obtain the meet information sheet.
  2. Determine what events you would like your swimmer to swim
  3. Fill out the Meet entry form. This form is to be filled out for one meet only. We will need a seperate meet entry form for each meet. Each meet annoucement sheet has all the fees listed. Each meet anouncement may contain a different fee schedule, so please ensure you read through each one.
  4. Once you have filled out a meet entry form, one for each swimmer(for families with more than one swimmer):
    1. Submit a check for the total amount, made out to the Ravena Swim Club, Inc.(can be total for for all swimmers in family)
    2. Insert the check and the meet entry form in an envelope with the Meet name and swimmer(s) name(s)
    3. Please hand the envelope to Coach Dave or Raeann only or put in the mail box on the table at the start end of the pool.
    4. The meet entry form and check must be in on or before the due date the Ravena Swim Club has provided. The due date on the Meet announcement is the date for Dave to have the entries in.

HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS (SUGGESTIONS) for the Colgate Classic and Adirondack Long Course meets both held at Colgate University in the Town of Hamilton, NY.

MOTEL LISTS ARE INCLUDED(See meet information on the Adirondack website)- COLGATE UNIVERSITY DORMITORIES ARE AVAILABLE FOR ALL SWIMMERS, COACHES, AND PARENTS ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS AND MAY BE LIMITED. PLEASE CHECK ADIRONDACK WEBSITE OR OUR MEET SCHEDULE BELOW FOR UPDATED INFORMATION AS IT BECOMES AVAILABLE.

Colgate Classic Invitational(U) See meet announcement CLOSED July 2 thru July 4, 2010 This is a fun three day meet. Colgate is in the beautiful town of Hamilton. You can camp or stay at one of the local hotels. If you want to camp, contact Raeann for the name of a campground 10 minutes from the pool. Also, if you want dorm rooms, please use link Colgate College link for Dorms . Also, you can see list of hotels in meet announcment. Hotels are going fast, must reserve now and let Dave know after you have reserved room so he can know ahead who is attending this meet.

Hawks Summer Invitational(U) See meet annoucement CLOSED July 9 - 11, 2010 WE WILL BE SENDING A COACH FOR BOTH DAYS, JULY 10AND JULY 11TH. This meet is held at the beautiful town of New Paltz. The drive to this meet is 45 minutes to an hour.

PARENTS - WE WILL HAVE A TENT TO SIT UNDER OUTSIDE. IF YOU CHOOSE TO SIT AT OUR TEAMS DESIGNATED AREA IN THE CAFETERIA, YOU MUST UNDERSTAND THAT YOU CANNOT SIT INSIDE ANY BLUE TAPED AREAS AND THAT OUR TEAM AREA INSIDE AND OUT MUST BE CLEANED BY THE END OF THE MEET BOTH DAYS. ALSO, ENSURE THAT YOU CHECK THE MEET DUTY SHEET FOR YOUR ASSIGNED MEET DUTIES. THESE ARE VERY IMPORTANT, AS OTHER TEAMS WILL BE RELYING ON US TO FULFILL OUR JOB DUTIES.
